PRIVILEGED CHARACTERS
Romans 2:1-11
Some people feel that they are PRIVILEGED CHARACTERS
When Paul wrote the letter to the Romans, many of his Jewish countrymen had this attitude
Paul declares that there is no place in God’s plan for privileged characters
The privileged character makes at least three tragic mistakes:
- THE PRIVILEGED CHARACTER MISUNDERSTANDS WHAT JUDGING IS
- JUDGING MAY BE THE MOST MISUNDERSTOOD SUBJECT JESUS EVER MENTIONED
- THE TRUTH IS WE ARE ALWAYS JUDGING OTHERS
- THE WRONG KIND OF JUDGING IS FOUND IN THE ATTITUDE OF THE PRIVILEGED CHARACTER
- THE PRIVILEGED CHARACER FORGETS WHO THE JUDGE IS
- HE FORGETS THAT MAN CAN NEVER BE THE FINAL JUDGE OF MEN
- ONLY GOD IS THE FINAL JUDGE OF MEN
- THE PRIVILEGED CHARACGTER FORGETS WHO WILL BE JUDGED
- HE FORGETS THAT EVERYONE WILL BE JUDGED BY GOD
- HE FORGETS THAT HE MUST ULTIMATELY ANSWER TO GOD
CONCLUSION
No one is a privileged character in God’s sight. We are all sinners.
We all need Jesus
