THE FINISHED MYSTERY OF GOD

Revelation 10:1-7

           
“Interlude” (usually denotes information that does not carry on the flow of the argument but is essential information for the reader
to have.)

In this particular interlude, or parenthesis, the Holy Spirit gives us a tremendous
truth to encourage and strengthen every generation of Christians
IT IS THE TRUTH OF THE FINISHED MYSTERY OF GOD!

I. FIRST, NOTICE THE CLAIMS OF GOD

A. WE SEE THEM IN THE PERSON OF A MIGHTY ANGEL

1. In Him we see the warmth of God’s love—“his face was like the sun”

2. In Him we see the reality of God’s wrath—“his legs were like fiery pillars”

3. In Him we see the presence of God’s peace—there was “a rainbow above his head”

4. In Him we see presence of God’s power—he came to claim this earth as God’s possession

B. NEXT, WE SEE THE CLAIMS OF GOD IN THE POSITION OF THIS MIGHTY ANGEL

Deuteronomy 11:24 God says to His people: “Every place where you set your foot will be yours…”
SO IT IS A SIGN OF POSSESSION WHEN THIS MIGHTY ANGEL PUTS ONE FOOT ON THE SEA AND ANOTHER ON THE LAND. 
HE IS CLAIMING IT ALL FOR GOD!

   THIS IS THE FIRST TRUTH WE MUST SEE IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND THE MYSTERY OF GOD WHICH IS SPOKEN OF IN THIS PASSAGE.

II. ALSO, THIS GREAT PASSAGE TEACHES US ABOUT THE WILL OF GOD

 A. JOHN DESCRIBES THE VOICE OF THE ANGEL AS THE VOICES OF SEVEN THUNDERS

B. ANOTHER VOICE FROM HEAVEN COMMANDS JOHN TO “SEAL UP” WHAT THE SEVEN THUNDERS SAID

III. THE MESSAGE OF GOD

A. FIRST, THE ANGEL ANNOUNCED “THERE WILL BE NO MORE DELAY”

B.
THE ANGEL GOES ON TO SAY “THE MYSTERY OF GOD WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED (FINISHED)…”

CONCLUSION

AND THE KINGDOMS OF THIS WORLD WILL BECOME THE KINGDOMS OF OUR GOD AND OF HIS CHRIST.
In that day the longsuffering of God will and God will say to death, “THIS IS YOUR LAST VICTIM!”

God will say to Satan, “THIS IS YOUR LAST DESTRUCTION!”

God will say to evil, “THIS IS YOUR LAST EFFORT!”

God will say to sin, “THIS IS YOUR LAST WASTE AND DAMNATION!”

SATAN AND ALL HIS WORKS SHALL BE OVERTHROWN AND THE KINGDOMS OF THIS WORLD SHALL BECOME THE KINGDOMS OF OUR LORD GOD.
